Job Description
The role involves supporting international trade operations and ensuring compliance within a Foreign-Trade Zone for a manufacturing company specializing in electric vehicle and energy storage technologies. It includes managing shipments, documentation, customs processes, and collaborating across departments to maintain efficient and compliant trade activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support FTZ admissions, transfers, and withdrawals, including documentation and recordkeeping
- Maintain FTZ inventory accuracy and ensure documentation integrity
- Assist with manufacturing-related FTZ processes such as WIP tracking and scrap/destruction documentation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, CBP, and FTZ regulations
- Support trade compliance activities including HTS classification, country-of-origin verification, and tariff analysis
- Coordinate with logistics, manufacturing, finance, and external partners to ensure compliant movement of goods
- Support FTZ reporting, reconciliation, and audit preparation
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in import export operations, customs compliance, or logistics
- Working knowledge of U.S. Customs processes and documentation
- Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Proficiency with Excel and document management tools
- Ability to work comfortably in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience supporting manufacturing or WIP environments (preferred)
- Experience with FTZ admissions, withdrawals, and consumption entries (preferred)
- Familiarity with HTS classification and tariff structures (preferred)
- Exposure to SAP, ERP, or trade compliance systems (preferred)
- CTPAT or audit-support experience (preferred)
- Prior experience working with China-origin imports (preferred)
