Job Description
The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to environmental policies, regulations, and ISO 14001 standards through monitoring, reporting, audits, and providing technical guidance to promote environmental stewardship across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, report, and coordinate activities to ensure environmental compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review, update, and maintain environmental compliance documentation annually.
- Manage environmental record-keeping systems to ensure regulatory retention compliance.
- Perform environmental audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to employees on environmental initiatives and compliance.
- Communicate non-conformance issues to HS E leadership and propose compliant solutions.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on processes and equipment.
- Conduct or coordinate training sessions on environmental regulations, ISO 14001 standards, and related programs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental performance and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering preferred or an accredited environmental certification
- Certification OSHA 30 General Industry required
- 2 to 3 years of related experience in environmental compliance or a similar role
- Solid understanding of ISO 14001 standards
- Familiarity with OSHA standards preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of EPA processes and requirements
- Ability to perform environmental audits and inspect facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with environmental standards
- Ability to review, update, and revise environmental compliance documentation annually
- Ability to manage environmental record-keeping systems to ensure compliance with regulatory retention requirements
- Ability to monitor and evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on existing and proposed processes and equipment, and propose compliant solutions
- Ability to conduct and/or coordinate training sessions on environmental regulations, ISO 14001 standards, and related compliance programs
- Willingness to work in conditions occasionally involving extreme heat and moderate noise levels while adhering to safety requirements, including wearing safety glasses and steel-toed boots
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 (base salary)
Work environment perks: Occasional exposure to extreme heat and moderate noise levels, safety PPE including safety glasses and steel-toed boots
