Job Description
A highly skilled Electrical Technician responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying electrical systems and automation equipment in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on safety, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and wire electrical components and systems according to schematics and specifications
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in equipment
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs to optimize performance and resolve issues
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs and Servo Drive systems
- Update and modify electrical schematics using CAD software
- Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, efficiency, and safety
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures during electrical work
- Travel to customer sites to handle electrical problems as needed
Requirements
- Possession of a 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree, or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical principles, including AC and DC circuits, motor controls, and safety systems.
- Knowledge of PLC programming with Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs, including interpreting and modifying ladder logic and other PLC code.
- Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Servo Drive systems, including their installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using ePlan Electrical CAD software for schematic design and modification.
- Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively with engineers and other team members.
- Adherence to all safety regulations and company procedures, including lockout tagout procedures, when working on electrical equipment.
- Willingness to perform occasional travel to customer sites to handle electrical problems.
