Job Description
The Electrical Technician at Gotion Inc. is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in automated manufacturing equipment, including control panels, PLCs, VFDs, and safety systems, to ensure efficient and safe operation within a high-tech energy storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and wire electrical components and systems according to schematics and specifications
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in equipment
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs to optimize equipment performance
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs and Servo Drive systems
- Update and modify electrical schematics using ePlan Electrical CAD software
- Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, efficiency, and safety
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures during electrical work
- Travel to customer sites to handle electrical issues as needed
Requirements
- Possession of a 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree, or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical principles, including AC and DC circuits, motor controls, and safety systems.
- Knowledge of PLC programming with Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs, including interpreting and modifying ladder logic and other PLC code.
- Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Servo Drive systems, including their installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using ePlan Electrical CAD software for schematic design and modification.
- Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively with engineers and other team members.
- Adherence to all safety regulations and company procedures, including lockout tagout procedures, when working on electrical equipment.
- Willingness to perform occasional travel to customer sites to handle electrical problems.
