Job Description
This role provides end-to-end operational leadership for scaling battery pack manufacturing from prototype to high-volume production, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the ramp-up and ongoing operations of battery pack manufacturing from prototype to high-volume production, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team fostering operational excellence and accountability.
- Develop and implement manufacturing KPIs to monitor safety, performance, costs, and sustainability, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Support deployment of operational control tools like SCADA for real-time decision-making and quality assurance.
- Establish review cadences and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational milestones and AOP targets.
- Manage and optimize the operational budget, implementing cost-saving measures and lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, finance, safety, and operations teams to ensure process integration.
- Drive process and product improvements to address quality issues, enhance manufacturability, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Apply lean principles to reduce scrap, optimize resource utilization, and achieve significant cost reductions.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop strategic plans and cascade continuous improvement projects across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an ideal qualification of an MBA
- At least 10 years of experience in construction management, including a minimum of 5 years of experience on large, complex projects
- Experience working with brownfield or greenfield sites is a plus
- Knowledge of Automotive Regulations, EV Batteries, or Energy, or experience with Complex Site Construction is a plus
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement project plans, track progress, and manage budgets
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
