Job Description
Responsible for managing civil and infrastructure construction of a battery manufacturing plant, including building facilities, utilities, and safety systems, ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the entire factory setup process, including site selection, geotechnical investigation, design, construction, and final acceptance.
- Manage civil construction works, equipment foundations, pipelines, cleanrooms, and hazardous material areas.
- Coordinate with design institutes, EPC contractors, general contractors, and suppliers to resolve conflicts and schedule issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, building, electrical, fire protection, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Drive the construction of utilities such as water supply, drainage, fire protection, power, HVAC, compressed air, and exhaust treatment systems.
- Establish and enforce EHS management systems on construction sites to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in industrial plant construction or infrastructure for new energy battery factories.
- Familiarity with requirements for cleanrooms, temperature- and humidity-controlled workshops, and hazardous material areas.
- Knowledge of U.S. building, electrical, fire protection, and environmental regulations and permit processes (preferred).
- Strong project management skills, including managing construction of civil works, equipment foundations, pipelines, cleanrooms, and hazardous material areas.
- Excellent cross-team communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English to directly communicate with technical teams, local design institutes, contractors, and government authorities.
- Ability to participate in the entire factory setup process, including site selection, geotechnical investigation, design, construction, and final acceptance.
- Experience coordinating with design institutes, EPC contractors, general contractors, and suppliers to resolve conflicts and schedule issues.
- Ability to ensure compliance with design standards, schedule requirements, and safety regulations, including NFPA, NEC, IBC, UL9540, UL9540A, and AHJ approval requirements.
- Experience driving the construction of utilities such as water supply and drainage, fire protection, power, HVAC, compressed air, and exhaust treatment.
- Ability to establish and enforce EHS management systems on construction sites to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
