Job Description
This role involves managing the construction of a new electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant, overseeing all aspects from site preparation to equipment installation, ensuring project completion on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the construction of the new EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish
- Develop and implement a construction plan to ensure timely, within-budget, high-quality project completion
- Coordinate with stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies
- Oversee site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of manufacturing equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Manage project budget and track expenses
- Communicate project progress to senior management
Requirements
- Manage the construction of a new brownfield EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish in Kankakee County, Illinois.
- Develop and implement a construction plan that ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
- Oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of equipment, including the shipment and installation of manufacturing machinery.
- Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are met.
- Manage the project budget and track expenses.
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Engineer and other senior management on the progress of the project.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Have at least 10 years of experience in construction management.
- Have at least 5 years of experience working on large, complex projects.
- Have experience working with brownfield or greenfield sites (preferred).
- Possess knowledge of Automotive Regulations, EV Batteries, Energy, or Complex Site Construction (preferred).
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement project plans, track progress, and manage budgets.
- Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
