Job Description
The role involves developing regional strategies for localizing battery pack and energy storage components in North America, managing supply chain and supplier relationships, executing sourcing initiatives, and supporting cost reduction and process optimization efforts within the automotive and energy storage industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop regional strategies for localizing battery pack and Energy Storage (ES) sub-components in North America to support business growth and cost reduction.
- Establish and manage a supply base in North America, including supplier sourcing, onboarding, and price negotiations to improve quality and delivery performance.
- Execute sourcing strategies for Battery Pack and ES components such as aluminum housing, pack cover, wiring, electronics, and BMS.
- Implement and manage cost reduction initiatives, including VA/VE plans and maintaining cost models and benchmarks for Pack ES components.
- Support supply chain optimization, capacity planning, and analysis of cost benchmarks.
- Lead commodity management processes like APQP, PPAP, and agile squad activities within the region.
- Conduct supplier business reviews and manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Oversee purchasing contracts and order processing.
- Benchmark and improve procurement processes in the North America region.
- Build and support SAP system implementation for North America supply chain operations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal supply chain outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, chemical engineering, or related majors; Master's degree preferred.
- Basic purchasing experience in automotive, Energy Storage, or another manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards like IATF16949 or VDA, with an understanding of APQP and PPAP processes.
- Market knowledge and intelligence of the supply base in North America (USA, Mexico, Canada), China, and other regions.
- Global sourcing experience and knowledge of global trade rules, import/export regulations, FTA, HS CODE, and components certification such as UL.
- Skilled in contracts and knowledgeable of local tax regulations and laws in the US.
- Ability to demonstrate effective negotiation styles and techniques.
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills with internal customers and stakeholders.
- Strong self-learning ability within new business environments and cultures.
- Experience within battery pack components, power electronics, or related electrification commodities is a plus.
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills.

Compensation/salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 USD
