Job Description

This role involves providing technical pre-sales support and account management for energy storage systems (ESS), collaborating with sales, R&D, and customers to ensure successful design, implementation, and adoption of ESS solutions in utility-scale and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for customer account engagements, including documentation development and training.
  • Manage pre- and post-sales technical account activities to ensure successful ESS solution adoption and customer loyalty.
  • Support utility-scale and commercial projects with customized design solutions to secure design wins and optimize costs.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to identify product issues and recommend improvements.
  • Lead the development of technical training, tools, and documentation for ESS products.
  • Coordinate field testing and gather feedback on new hardware and software.
  • Work closely with Customer Support to address technical issues and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with customers and partners on ESS system applications and integration with balance of system equipment.
  • Develop technical specifications, manuals, safety certifications, and proposals for ESS products.
  • Prioritize and manage technical support tasks to ensure qualified projects receive appropriate pre-sales support.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to prepare ESS products for market success.
  • Act as a liaison between sales, product management, and customers to communicate technical feedback and solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Sales Managers to deliver the highest level of quality field customer technical support, enabling account and project wins and ensuring the highest levels of customer support.
  • Ability to work closely with sales teams to determine appropriate prioritization of account project opportunities relative to available technical resources and ensure close coordination and communication with the customer.
  • Experience leading and managing tasks in the technical pipeline to ensure that all identified qualified projects receive proper and appropriate pre-sales design and technical support.
  • Experience working with China-based R&D, design, and pre-sales technical support processes to ensure proactive participation with technical teams on test requirements, procedures, and plans to ensure ESS products are prepared and positioned to win the business.
  • Experience leading and collaborating closely with Product Management on broad-based technical tools and training and driving adoption through the sales team, partners, and distributors.
  • Experience acting as a sales focal point for input feedback into product management on major product and technical issues and recommended solutions.
  • Experience managing a closed-loop process with product management, customer support, and sales on all field pre-sales related topics and issues.
  • Possession of a BSEE, BSME, or MS degree (preferred).
  • 1-5 years of experience in ESS engineering design, technical pre-sales support, and project management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical subject matter with external partners and customers.
  • Strong networking and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally, domestically, and internationally as needed.
