Job Description
This role involves providing technical pre-sales support and account management for energy storage systems (ESS), collaborating with sales, R&D, and customers to develop high-quality designs, technical documentation, and training, with the goal of driving successful project wins and ensuring customer satisfaction in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales technical support for customer account engagements, including documentation, best practices, and training.
- Manage pre- and post-sales technical account activities to ensure successful ESS solution adoption and customer loyalty.
- Develop customized technical designs for utility-scale and commercial projects to ensure design wins and cost savings.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback and technical issues to R&D and Product Management for product improvements.
- Lead product management and development of market training, tools, and best practices for ESS products.
- Coordinate field testing and collect feedback on new hardware and software solutions.
- Collaborate with Customer Support to address technical issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Engage with customers on ESS system applications and coordinate with partners for system integration and equipment provisioning.
- Create technical documentation such as specifications, manuals, safety certifications, and proposals.
- Work with sales teams to prioritize projects, provide technical support, and ensure project success.
- Coordinate with R&D and design teams to prepare ESS products for market and support business wins.
- Partner with Product Management to develop technical tools and training, driving adoption across sales and partners.
- Act as a sales contact for technical feedback and collaborate on product and technical issue resolution.
Requirements
- Experience working with Sales Managers to deliver the highest level of quality field customer technical support, enabling account and project wins and ensuring the highest levels of customer support.
- Ability to work closely with sales teams to determine appropriate prioritization of account project opportunities relative to available technical resources and ensure close coordination and communication with the customer.
- Experience leading and managing tasks in the technical pipeline to ensure that all identified qualified projects receive proper and appropriate pre-sales design and technical support.
- Experience working with China-based R&D, design, and pre-sales technical support processes to ensure proactive participation with technical teams on test requirements, procedures, and plans to ensure ESS products are prepared and positioned to win the business.
- Experience leading and collaborating closely with Product Management on broad-based technical tools and training and driving adoption through the sales team, partners, and distributors.
- Ability to act as a sales focal point for input feedback into product management on major product and technical issues and recommended solutions.
- Experience managing a closed-loop process with product management, customer support, and sales on all field pre-sales related topics and issues.
- Possession of a BSEE, BSME, or MS degree (preferred).
- 1-5 years of experience in ESS engineering design, technical pre-sales support, and project management.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical subject matter with external partners and customers.
- Strong networking and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally, domestically, and internationally as required.

Compensation/salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 USD
