Job Description

The Senior Staff Vehicle Reliability Engineer at Gatik is responsible for developing and managing hardware testing and validation plans to ensure the reliability and durability of autonomous vehicle components, working closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to support the company's autonomous middle-mile logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop vehicle and hardware reliability test and validation plans
  • Lead and organize DFMEA efforts for hardware and vehicle systems
  • Design, run, and manage tests for components and subsystems
  • Collect, interpret, and report test data to support validation and reliability
  • Coordinate internal and external testing activities with vendors
  • Design, assemble, operate, and maintain test equipment and infrastructure
  • Support creation of reliability and performance benchmarks for components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of engineering testing validation experience in the hardware space with a strong focus on designing and managing validation plans
  • Several years of hands-on experience in the automotive, trucking, aerospace, robotics, or automation industry
  • Experience defining and managing mechanical and environmental tests for components that are integrated into vehicles or robots
  • Experience with vehicle communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience with setting up and collecting data with data acquisition systems for testing purposes
  • Experience in the selection and usage of equipment such as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etc.
  • Experience with processing data collected with DAQ systems and CANbus, LIN, Automotive Ethernet protocols
  • Familiarity with using measured data to create HALT tests for accelerated testing
  • Ability to create reliability test and validation plans for AV hardware components and subsystems
  • Ability to lead and organize DFMEA efforts within the Hardware and Vehicle groups
  • Ability to instrument and collect data to support component testing and validation plan creation
  • Ability to design custom test profiles utilizing field measurements and requirements
  • Experience performing tests internally and managing outsourced testing activities
  • Ability to interpret test data and generate reports to provide feedback to cross-functional teams
  • Experience designing, assembling, operating, and maintaining test equipment and infrastructure
  • Ability to lead test campaigns for components or subsystems
  • Support the creation of reliability and performance benchmarks for custom components

Benefits & Perks

Salary range of $160,000 to $220,000
