Job Description
A Senior Accountant role responsible for managing Gatik's general ledger, overseeing financial close processes, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations in a fast-growing autonomous logistics company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company's general ledger and financial system
- Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close processes
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform variance analysis on Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements
- Reconcile daily cash transactions and complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Conduct regular cash forecasting to ensure liquidity
- Record and manage prepaid expenses and maintain amortization schedules
- Prepare reconciliations for fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and prepaids
- Review and process employee expense reports for compliance
- Manage tax filings including sales, use, and property taxes
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficient in US GAAP and SEC standards.
- Hands-on experience with General Ledger management and audit work paper preparation.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.
- Experience with Netsuite or similar mid-market ERPs is highly desirable.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Ability to lead the Monthly Close process and ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform quarterly and yearly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss flux analyses to explain variances and trends.
- Ability to monitor and reconcile daily cash transactions, ensuring all bank activity is accurately mirrored in Netsuite.
- Ability to complete formal monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts and resolve discrepancies immediately.
- Conduct regular cash forecasting to ensure liquidity for operations.
- Record and manage the full lifecycle of prepaid expenses, maintain detailed amortization schedules, and post monthly adjusting journal entries to the GL.
- Prepare comprehensive reconciliations for fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and prepaids, ensuring all work papers are audit-ready.
- Review and process employee expense reports via Concur, ensuring adherence to company policy.
- Manage the execution of tax filings, including Sales Use tax, property tax, and required local filings.
- This role is onsite 5 days a week at the Mountain View, CA office.
