The Autonomous Vehicle Operator is responsible for safely operating class 3-7 delivery trucks on designated routes to ensure timely deliveries, collect data to support autonomous driving technology development, and maintain vehicle safety and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate Class 3-7 delivery trucks manually on assigned routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Collect route data to support the development of autonomous driving technology.
Assist with loading and unloading goods securely using appropriate equipment.
Perform routine vehicle checks to maintain safety and operational standards.
Update dispatch team on route and shift status.
Adhere to company SOPs and safety protocols during operations.
Requirements
Must have 3 years or more experience operating straight trucks up to 26-35 ft long in North America with a valid Class A CDL driver s license
Must be insurable by our underwriting, including a clean driving record, personal and professional background check
Must be willing to work flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends
Ability to manually drive class 3-7 less than 33,001-pound GVWR, with or without air brakes, box truck delivery vehicles, in manual modes while ensuring safety of other drivers, operators, the public, and the vehicle
Experience in safe, reliable operation of delivery vehicles and performing daily routine checks such as monitoring fluid levels, tire pressure, and hose connections
Ability to assist with safe, secure loading and unloading of customer goods using equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, dollies, lift gates, etc.
Ability to record and review data via spreadsheets and other business-related applications
Physical ability to perform tasks including bending, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and operating manual pallet jacks with up to 400 lbs. of goods and material
Ability to learn and adhere to company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with safe operations standards
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use smartphone applications and willingness to provide your own mobile device
