Job Description
A Commercial Solar Installer at Freedom Solar is responsible for installing solar power systems ranging from 10kW to 1MW on commercial projects, primarily involving travel and teamwork, to support the company's mission of providing clean, affordable, and reliable solar energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar systems ranging from 10kW to 1MW on commercial projects
- Assist in the assembly and mounting of solar panels and related equipment
- Connect electrical components and wiring for solar systems
- Ensure installation complies with safety standards and electrical codes
- Travel extensively to various project sites, primarily for 4-week periods
Requirements
- Experience in construction, electrical, or solar installation with the ability to join a crew of solar installers to install solar systems ranging from 10kW to 1MW.
- Willingness to travel 90% of the time, mostly for 4 weeks at a time, with occasional weekend travel work required.
- Based out of Austin, TX, and able to travel as required for the role.
- Demonstrated dedication, humility, and hardworking attitude suitable for a commercial solar installer role.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to install solar systems with capacities between 10kW and 1MW, including handling associated equipment and tools.
- Possession of relevant skills, knowledge, or experience in construction, electrical work, or solar installation (specific years of experience are not explicitly stated).
