Job Description
The BSA-AML Alert Analyst supports the bank's financial intelligence operations by investigating transaction monitoring alerts, conducting customer due diligence, and ensuring compliance with AML and sanctions regulations, while escalating suspicious activities and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate BSA AML transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and sanctions screening alerts
- Conduct initial due diligence reviews of higher risk accounts
- Escalate unusual activity identified through alert investigations
- Perform due diligence on customers and bank accounts
- Understand and adhere to corporate policies and procedures related to AML and sanctions compliance
- Keep up to date with relevant regulations
- Ensure timely reporting of activity to the BSA Officer
Requirements
- Experience in investigating BSA AML transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, and sanctions screening alerts within a financial institution or similar environment.
- Ability to conduct initial due diligence reviews of higher risk accounts and escalate unusual activity identified through alert investigations.
- Perform Due Diligence on customers and bank accounts as part of daily operations.
- Understanding of Corporate policies and procedures pertaining to AML and Sanctions Compliance topics.
- Keeping up to date on relevant regulations related to BSA AML and sanctions compliance.
- Ensuring timely reporting of all activity to the BSA Officer.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with others.
- Proficiency in operating technology or other office machinery such as printers, scanners, and computers.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing duties.
- Use hands and fingers to operate computer monitors and other office equipment with visual acuity.
- Work primarily in an office setting, with some positions possibly allowing remote work through technology at management discretion.
- Exhibit a high level of flexibility regarding situationally assigned duties outside of the core job description.
- Possess a minimum of entry-level qualifications, with the understanding that highly experienced candidates may have higher qualifications.
- Possess the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, demonstrating adaptability and results-oriented focus.
