Job Description
The Senior Operations Manager oversees the manufacturing operations at a battery cell facility, focusing on strategic leadership, process improvement, quality assurance, and supplier growth to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations at the supplier's facility to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Lead transformation initiatives for continuous improvement and innovation
- Manage the growth and development of US suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards
- Identify and execute process improvements using lean manufacturing and other methodologies
- Ensure all products meet specifications through quality assurance processes
- Develop strategies to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining product quality
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on operational objectives and process changes
- Prepare and present reports on operational performance, supplier growth, and cost reduction efforts
- Provide training and support to supplier teams on operational standards and best practices
Requirements
- A strong background in operations management, strategy, and transformation with experience overseeing manufacturing operations, preferably at a battery cell manufacturer s facility.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Proven ability to lead transformation initiatives to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Experience managing day-to-day operations at a manufacturing facility, ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and operational issues are promptly addressed.
- Experience overseeing the growth and development of suppliers in the US, ensuring they meet the company s quality and performance standards.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies.
- Experience working closely with Quality Engineers to ensure all products meet required specifications and standards, and implementing quality control processes to maintain high-quality production.
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining or improving product quality, including optimizing material usage, improving production techniques, and reducing waste.
- Experience collaborating with internal teams such as engineering, procurement, and logistics to ensure alignment on operational objectives and process changes.
- Ability to foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Experience preparing and presenting regular reports on operational performance, supplier growth, cost reduction efforts, and process improvements, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Providing training and support to the supplier s team on operational standards, cost reduction techniques, and best practices, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve operational excellence.
- Location requirement to be fully onsite at the supplier s facility with travel to other locations in Dallas, TX; Smyrna, TN; Bowling Green, KY.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and supplier relationships effectively.
