A leadership role responsible for managing the development and optimization of next-generation solid-state battery cells, including design, validation, and collaboration with manufacturing and external partners to ensure quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of next-generation battery cells
Manage multiple cell design teams and oversee final design handoff to manufacturing
Define cell bill of materials, create cell drawings, and ensure design requirements are met
Lead product development processes including concept, design, validation, and production validation
Execute root cause analysis and develop mitigation plans for design and process improvements
Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA)
Innovate through technical research, publications, presentations, and patents
Design, validate, and analyze lithium secondary batteries for process and equipment improvements
Support large cell fabrication process development and optimize product design for manufacturing and quality
Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to meet manufacturing capabilities
Provide engineering support to resolve production and quality issues
Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives
Communicate with internal customers on cell development and scale-up efforts
Prepare RFQ/RFI documentation and respond to OEM customer inquiries
Requirements
5 years of experience in silicon chemistry related lithium-ion battery product development from an established cell supplier or automotive OEM
The silicon cell development experience is mandatory
2 years of management experience
Experience in mass production of lithium batteries
Good written and basic verbal communication skills in English
Ability to be fully located on-site in Korea, working closely with the US team, which requires occasional late-night or early-morning work
