Job Description
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, manage audits, and lead process improvements within a fast-paced energy storage company.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll review, and month-end and quarter-end closing processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process
- Improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls for efficiency and accuracy
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Assist with tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors
- Participate in process improvements, system upgrades, and automation initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification is preferred
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Prior experience in public accounting is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytic skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite is a plus
- Ability to be fully onsite in Billerica, MA
