Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative GIS solutions, advising customers on complex business challenges, and demonstrating the value of Esri technology across various Natural Resources industries. The role involves technical consulting, solution design, presentations, and collaboration with clients to align GIS capabilities with their business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships and support the sale of Esri software and solutions to customers.
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision makers to drive revenue.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS technology and Natural Resources industries.
- Develop complex GIS solutions aligned with customer business needs and demonstrate their value.
- Design and deliver technical presentations for diverse audiences, including at conferences and executive engagements.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 3 years of experience in one or more Natural Resources industries oil and gas, pipeline, renewable energy, mining, forestry, and agriculture
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Ability to design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences within Esri’s largest customers
- Ability to provide configuration guidance and best practices
