Job Description
This role involves developing and documenting geospatial APIs and tools for developers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand market needs, and supporting the integration of ArcGIS services through technical writing, outreach, and staying current with industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to understand market demands, developer requirements, and product offerings.
- Create, update, and maintain product documentation, code samples, tutorials, and experiment with new APIs.
- Gather customer requirements and use cases to improve documentation and product features.
- Produce developer-focused content such as blogs and videos to support API and service integration.
- Stay current with industry technologies and developer trends to maintain expertise.
- Verify user workflows utilizing location services to address real-world problems.
Requirements
- 5 years of GIS experience in a scientific or engineering environment, preferably with a focus on application development
- Proficient with Desktop, Web, and/or Mobile GIS applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or others
- Understanding of REST services and experience with RESTful APIs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, or related fields like the physical or social sciences
