Job Description
A full stack software developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced desktop GIS software features using C, C++, and .NET technologies, with a focus on creating intuitive user interfaces and robust backend systems for spatial analysis and modeling tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance workflow-based diagramming interfaces and user experiences for ArcGIS Pro.
- Implement software features using C, C++, .NET, MVVM, and WPF following design patterns and development methodologies.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve bugs, performance issues, memory leaks, race conditions, and deadlocks.
- Collaborate with product specialists and software designers to create new ModelBuilder capabilities.
- Contribute to unit testing to ensure high-quality, regression-free software releases.
- Become an expert in interaction patterns, third-party diagramming libraries, and backend APIs used by ModelBuilder.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in C programming with a strong understanding of memory management, smart pointers, multithreading and concurrency, performance optimization and profiling.
- Strong proficiency in C .NET including object-oriented design principles, asynchronous programming (async/await), parallel processing methods, dependency injection, and application lifecycle management.
- Ability to design and implement APIs, component-based and layered architectures, and ensure interoperability between native C and managed .NET code.
- Proven experience diagnosing and resolving memory leaks, race conditions, deadlocks, and CPU/memory bottlenecks in applications, with familiarity in profiling and diagnostics tools for both C and .NET.
- Experience in designing modular, scalable, and maintainable systems.
- Ability to clearly analyze and describe problems, and propose effective solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, working closely with software developers, product engineers, and other stakeholders to build quality software.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience working in an agile development environment, including working effectively in an interactive and creative team setting.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically GitHub, showcasing projects and work.
