Job Description
This position involves researching and developing AI-based solutions for 3D geometric processing, including building extraction from point clouds and meshes, creating datasets, designing evaluation metrics, and collaborating on product development and deployment within a GIS software environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype pipelines for 3D building extraction from photogrammetric meshes, point clouds, and gaussian splats.
- Create datasets for statistical evaluation of prototypes and production code.
- Develop and implement quantitative metrics for evaluating pipeline performance.
- Run and analyze leaderboards for pipeline modifications and parameter tuning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and developers on productization and integration.
- Develop geoprocessing tools, Python APIs, and documentation for users and developers.
- Convert prototypes into production-grade implementations in C.
- Design and implement automated tests for software validation.
- Present research and development work at conferences and industry venues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Python programming and Geoprocessing via ArcPy.
- Experience with 3D in ArcGIS and third-party libraries, including common data formats, visualization, and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of CGAL mesh solvers, fTetWild, Poisson mesh reconstruction, marching tetrahedra and cubes, and related 3D processing techniques.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS stack working with multi-band rasters, point clouds, and multipatches.
- Experience with deep learning packages relevant to 3D data processing.
- Experience with optimization and Deep Learning techniques.
- Proficiency in Windows and Ubuntu operating systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer or data science, mathematics, robotics, remote sensing, or computer vision.
