Job Description
A software developer role focused on building geospatial applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python, supporting Esri's GIS products and APIs. The position involves collaborating on full development lifecycle projects to create innovative solutions for diverse clients, primarily in the Midwest region.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and support software using industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models.
- Solve complex problems related to application design, product development, and user experience.
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop front-end applications using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Create geoprocessing tools, services, and AI agents using Python.
Requirements
- One year of JavaScript or TypeScript experience
- Professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
- Strong foundation in object-oriented software principles
- Ability to analyze software algorithms and identify improvements
- Understanding of the importance of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, RAD, RUP and familiarity with UML, entity relationship diagramming, use cases, data flow diagramming and how they impact the quality of design, team collaboration, and work product
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- U.S. citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or STEM related field
