Job Description

This role involves managing and operating SaaS GIS solutions on the cloud, including deployment, monitoring, automation, and troubleshooting of ArcGIS Velocity and Workflow Manager, while collaborating with engineering teams to enhance and maintain high-availability cloud-based GIS capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate SaaS capabilities across multiple regions on the cloud platform in collaboration with SRE engineers
  • Design, implement, configure, and utilize monitoring systems to ensure SaaS product health
  • Manage infrastructure for ArcGIS Velocity and ArcGIS Workflow Manager, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions for deployment, incident resolution, and scaling
  • Design and deploy containerized micro-service components for SaaS offerings
  • Create and automate Git workflows for code integration, testing, and infrastructure deployment
  • Troubleshoot system incidents and perform root cause analysis

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Kubernetes EKS, logging and monitoring with ELK, Prometheus, and container technologies such as Docker and ECS.
  • Proficiency in using Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Ability to design and automate Git workflows for streamlined code integration, testing, and infrastructure deployment.
  • Ability to write scripts to deploy infrastructure and applications using Bash, Python, and Terraform.
  • High level of understanding and experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux Operating system administration, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and VPNs in platforms like AWS.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving system and application issues through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of a source control and issue management system, preferably GitHub.
  • Working knowledge of authoring, deploying, and troubleshooting Java applications on AWS Lambda.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, GIS, or information systems.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions for operational tasks such as deployment pipelines, incident resolution, and scaling processes.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating containerized micro-service components for SaaS offerings.
  • Experience managing infrastructure used for SaaS products, including responding to alerts and troubleshooting problems to resolution.
  • Experience participating in technical spike efforts to bring new innovative ideas to future software versions.
