Job Description
This role involves developing, testing, and enhancing GIS software features, particularly focusing on ArcGIS Arcade scripting, to improve user workflows and data visualization. The position includes collaboration with engineering teams, creating GIS datasets, and supporting product releases in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, and improve ArcGIS Arcade functionalities and documentation
- Collaborate with development teams to design, create, and validate GIS datasets and workflows
- Explore user challenges and provide feedback to enhance user experience
- Develop sample applications and articles demonstrating product capabilities and scripting best practices
- Describe GIS workflows and best practices in various forums and publications
- Collaborate on AI code generation to explore issues and prototype enhancements
- Build test code to simulate complex situations for investigation and regression testing
- Administer and automate online and database GIS systems to support product development and releases
Requirements
- At least 2 years of GIS experience such as modeling, analyzing, or presenting geospatial data in a scientific, engineering, governmental, or post graduate academic environment
- Proficiency with mapping, spatial data or GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS
- Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
- Proven initiative and creativity to find ways to explore, investigate, test and validate software behavior
- Experience of, and interest in, scripting or coding to appreciate end users challenges and to communicate effectively with the development team
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science, engineering, or related field
- Existing work authorization for the United Kingdom
