Job Description
The GIS Solution Engineer Team Lead is responsible for guiding a team of solution engineers to deliver GIS solutions for civilian science clients, shaping technical strategies, mentoring team members, and supporting sales efforts to demonstrate the value of ArcGIS technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical activities of the solution engineering team to support sales processes.
- Mentor and coach team members to develop their technical skills and performance.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in ArcGIS and civilian sciences.
- Develop and propose complex GIS solutions that demonstrate business value to customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with technical decision-makers and support sales engagements.
- Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to align team strategies and achieve sales objectives.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three (3) years of experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching on a team
- Advanced understanding of current GIS technology, including the ArcGIS system, to demonstrate Esri s patterns of use for civilian sciences
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Demonstrated experience of actively participating in a sales process
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
