Job Description
The Senior Engineer Energetics Processing supports energetics and chemical manufacturing processes by evaluating safety, designing equipment and facilities, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents, primarily within a fast-paced, technical environment at the Naval Support Facility in Indian Head, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Support energetics and chemical manufacturing processes, including evaluating safe processes, equipment, and facility design
- Formulate risk mitigation strategies for energetic and chemical processes
- Provide technical expertise in new process startup activities
- Evaluate standard operating procedures (SOPs) and perform malfunction and incident investigations
- Interact with technical customers to provide process engineering and safety expertise
- Manage projects, facilitate meetings, and conduct hazard analyses related to energetic processes
Requirements
- Must have energetics processing experience supporting energetics and chemical manufacturing processes, including evaluating safe processes, equipment, and facility design.
- Must have experience formulating risk mitigation strategies related to energetics and chemical manufacturing.
- Must have technical expertise in new process startup activities for energetics and chemical manufacturing processes.
- Must have experience evaluating standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to energetics and chemical processes.
- Must have performed malfunction and incident investigations within an energetics or chemical manufacturing context.
- Must have interacted with technical customers to provide process engineering and safety expertise.
- Must have experience managing projects related to energetics or chemical processing.
- Must have experience facilitating meetings related to process engineering, safety, or incident investigations.
- Must have experience investigating incidents and facilitating hazard analyses in a process engineering environment.
- Must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to perform this role as a full-time onsite position at the Naval Support Facility NSF Indian Head, MD.
