Job Description
The Engineering Manager at EnergyHub leads software development teams focused on demand response and device control, overseeing strategic initiatives, ensuring code quality and scalability, and fostering team growth in a fast-paced, innovative environment dedicated to creating a sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the team with clear priorities, scope, and direction.
- Provide strategic oversight, architectural direction, and execute new initiatives.
- Conduct code reviews and work within the existing code base as needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define the team's mission, vision, and roadmap.
- Ensure timely delivery of quality, scalable, well-tested code.
- Improve organizational processes and technical skills through coaching and training.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience directly managing teams of developers, ideally with teams of 5-7 members.
- Core technical knowledge and experience with Java, Spring, AWS EC2, ECS, MongoDB, and PostGres.
- Experience with other technologies such as Python and C .NET to drive automation and micro-service efforts.
- Strong foundational understanding of computer science principles and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.
- Experience with architecture, scalability, and reliability, especially as the system grows to dispatch at higher volumes.
- Ability to learn from challenging projects with appropriate corrections to improve process, resource allocation, and coaching.
- Ability to work well with ambiguity and in a dynamic work environment.
- Belief in a test-first approach to coding.

Compensation/salary range: $160,000 - $195,000 USD
