Job Description
The Director of Regulatory Affairs at EnergyHub leads the company's regulatory strategy, engages with policymakers and industry stakeholders, and advocates for demand-side energy solutions and DER flexibility to support the company's growth in clean energy programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage EnergyHub's Regulatory Affairs team.
- Develop and implement North American regulatory and legislative engagement strategies.
- Identify and prioritize advocacy opportunities related to grid modernization, demand-side management, EV programs, energy storage, and related policies.
- Engage with regulators, utility stakeholders, and trade organizations to influence policy and regulatory outcomes.
- Represent EnergyHub at regulatory proceedings, industry conferences, and public forums.
- Advocate for the role of software and DERMS in utility programs and rates.
- Monitor and brief senior leadership on regulatory trends and market opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales and client teams to support regulatory aspects of customer engagement and contract development.
- Research and develop expertise in regulatory topics to accelerate market adoption of grid-edge resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with deep knowledge of utility regulatory affairs, energy markets and policy, utility IRP processes, DSM evaluation and reporting, demand response and EV programs and program design, and virtual power plants
- Proven ability to build deep relationships with regulators, legislators, and decision-makers overseeing utility DSM, EV, and VPP programs
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience, including in a similar role within utility regulatory affairs at a leading DR, DSM, or edge DERMS provider, DER OEM or aggregator, multi-state utility, or trade organization

Compensation/salary range: $160,000 - $180,000 USD
