The Energy Efficiency Account Manager supports the development and maintenance of relationships with market actors such as HVAC, water heating, and commercial foodservice contractors to promote energy efficiency programs, drive market activity, and contribute to greenhouse gas reduction efforts within the Northeast region.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain relationships with HVAC, water heating, heat pump manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and commercial foodservice dealers.
Travel to market actor locations to support program performance, build rapport, and provide program support.
Serve as a communication link between program leads and outreach/trade ally teams.
Track and report market activity and developments to predict market trends.
Contribute to outreach plans for new and existing programs.
Analyze participation data, market, economic, and regulatory information to assess sales potential and monitor performance.
Develop and manage trade ally and market actor relationships, including documentation of best practices.
Support distributors and contractors with program training, events, and rebate claim submissions.
Participate in program meetings and planning sessions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related position with a Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 4 years of work experience in a related position in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
Willingness to conduct business travel within Connecticut 1-2 days per week, with additional travel to neighboring states including Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts 1-2 times per month
Experience with Energy Efficiency preferred
Ability to build relationships with market actors and trade allies and be comfortable through phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings
Familiarity with HVAC, Water Heating, and commercial foodservice preferred
Work experience in sales or at HVAC contractor, Water Heating, commercial foodservice, distributor, or manufacturer preferred
Exposure to construction supply chain is a bonus but not required
Ability to interact professionally with clients and present effectively in the primary role
Excellent business acumen and communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to work and thrive independently
Experience using Microsoft Office and Salesforce to track activity preferred

Salary range of $69,000 to $79,000 annually, with a target of $79,000 based on experience and qualifications
