The Database Administrator at Energy Solutions is responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the company's database environments, supporting data analysis and reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and high-performing data systems that enable informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and optimize company databases for performance, reliability, security, and scalability
Create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and optimize queries and configurations
Implement and maintain data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures
Ensure data integrity and availability through backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data analysis and visualization
Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights for business decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience required.
5 years of experience in a database administrative or equivalent role.
Expertise with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
Strong skills in database monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with scripting in Python and Bash for automation.
Solid understanding of database security, user access, and compliance best practices.
Experience with data lineage, security, quality, and governance.
Ability to create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls.
Experience with performing and managing database administration tasks primarily for relational databases with exposure to NoSQL databases.
Experience with evaluating and tuning queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize performance.
Experience with implementing and maintaining data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures.
Experience with ensuring data integrity and availability through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Experience developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
Ability to perform and interpret data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decision-making.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
