Job Description
The Database Administrator at Energy Solutions is responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing the company's database environments, while also developing data reports and insights to support organizational decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize company databases for performance, reliability, security, and scalability
- Create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and optimize queries and configurations
- Implement and maintain data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures
- Ensure data integrity and availability through backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data analysis and visualization
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights supporting business decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience required.
- 5 years of experience in a database administrative or equivalent role.
- Expertise with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Strong skills in database monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with scripting languages Python and Bash for automation.
- Solid understanding of database security, user access, and compliance best practices.
- Experience with data lineage, security, quality, and governance.
- Ability to create, manage, and review database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls.
- Experience with performing and managing database administration tasks primarily for relational databases with exposure to NoSQL databases.
- Experience with evaluating and tuning queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize performance.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures.
- Experience with ensuring data integrity and availability through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ability to develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience in performing and interpreting data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
- Experience in documenting, reviewing, and improving database administration procedures, security protocols, and governance frameworks.

Salary range of 121,679 - 147,639 with a target of 121,679 - 137,625 based on experience and qualifications
