A Project Accountant at Encore Renewable Energy will manage the financial aspects of community solar and energy storage projects, ensuring accurate cost recording, compliance, and maximizing incentives to support the company's mission of delivering clean energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounting and financial reporting for community solar and energy storage projects from development through operations
Ensure accurate recording, classification, and capitalization of project costs
Support tax credit compliance and optimize the use of renewable energy incentives such as Investment Tax Credits (ITC)
Collaborate with project management, construction management, and external partners including appraisers and auditors
Perform portfolio-level accounting and financial analysis for renewable energy projects
Requirements
Experience in accounting and financial management of renewable energy projects, including supporting projects from early development through long-term operations.
Ability to ensure project costs are recorded, classified, and capitalized accurately for reporting, compliance, and unlocking federal Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and other renewable energy incentives.
Experience with renewable energy project finance, tax credit compliance, and portfolio-level accounting.
Strong attention to detail and being highly detail-oriented in managing project accounting tasks.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Construction Management, and external partners including third-party appraisers and auditors.
Proficiency in applying accounting principles relevant to renewable energy projects and tax credit incentives.
Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes that deliver accurate accounting results.
