Job Description
The Field Technician II at RES is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment in the field to support environmental restoration projects, while ensuring safety and high-quality work standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field
- Lead equipment inspections and ensure safety and maintenance protocols are followed
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Assess and troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools
- Communicate urgent repair needs to supervisors
- Train crew members on safety and maintenance procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities
- Ensure safety standards are upheld during all field operations
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience in construction equipment repair and maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
- Trade school certification or manufacturer-specific repair certification
- Intermediate proficiency in diagnostic tools and interpreting system errors
- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance schedules, fluids, and safety protocols
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
