Job Description

The Field Technician II at RES is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment in the field to support environmental restoration projects, while ensuring safety and high-quality work standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in the field
  • Lead equipment inspections and ensure safety and maintenance protocols are followed
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Assess and troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools
  • Communicate urgent repair needs to supervisors
  • Train crew members on safety and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld during all field operations

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in construction equipment repair and maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Trade school certification or manufacturer-specific repair certification
  • Intermediate proficiency in diagnostic tools and interpreting system errors
  • Working knowledge of equipment maintenance schedules, fluids, and safety protocols
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
