Job Description
A Senior Data Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions for a renewable energy company, supporting sustainable biomass and hydroelectric power projects. The role involves working within a software engineering team to deliver data-driven insights and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements.
- Optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on energy sector projects.
- Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data architecture.
- Strong knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services relevant to data engineering, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to work with large-scale data sets and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Knowledge of renewable energy data sources and metrics is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering roles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
