Job Description
A Senior Data Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions for a renewable energy company, supporting sustainable biomass and hydroelectric power projects in a software engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions.
- Optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on energy sector projects
- Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data architectures
- Strong knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies
- Experience with cloud platforms and services relevant to data engineering, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Ability to work with large-scale data sets and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java
- Knowledge of renewable energy data sources, particularly biomass and hydroelectric power data, is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment
