Job Description

The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering presentations on complex energy and climate issues, while managing workstreams and contributing to policy and market evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and develop project approaches and methods for medium-to-large projects.
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers.
  • Deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and Q&A sessions.
  • Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts.

Requirements

  • Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
  • Strong analytical dexterity and/or policy experience in the energy sector.
  • Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
  • Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
  • Proficiency in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Experience in delivering findings and summaries to customers, making presentations, and replying to questions.
  • Comfortable working in a rigorous and quantitative solution-finding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and leadership techniques.
  • Ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
  • Full-time employment status.
  • Travel availability of 0-10%.
  • Office location in San Francisco, CA.
