Job Description
The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering presentations on complex energy and climate policy issues, while guiding project teams and contributing to business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and identify approaches for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and Q&A sessions
- Oversee investigative tasks and manage existing tools
- Lead efforts on proposal writing and project methodology development
Requirements
- Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
- Strong analytical skills and/or policy experience with the ability to analyze complex energy issues.
- Demonstrated integrity and a passion for energy.
- Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
- Ability to direct workstreams within projects and contribute heavily to written reports and papers.
- Experience in delivering findings and summaries to customers, making presentations, and replying to questions.
- Strong project management and leadership techniques to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient and provide guidance to serve customers.
- Comfortable working closely with clients and stakeholders, coaching and providing feedback to others.
- Curiosity and the ability to look at all sides of an issue to make informed recommendations with confidence and clarity.
- Technical aptitude and demonstrated deep subject matter expertise in at least one of the practice areas.
- Ability to work full-time with a hybrid work schedule, including working from an office at least 2-3 days per week, usually including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Must be able to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Travel requirements of 0-10% for project-related activities.
