Job Description
The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering presentations on complex energy and climate policy issues, while managing workstreams and contributing to the firm's high-impact consulting efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and identify approaches for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and Q&A sessions
- Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts
Requirements
- Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
- Strong analytical dexterity and/or policy experience in energy-related fields.
- Demonstrated integrity and a passion for energy issues.
- Experience in leading project work, including identifying approaches and methods for medium-to-large projects.
- Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient and effective.
- Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
- Proficiency in delivering findings and summaries to customers, including making presentations and replying to questions.
- Comfortable coaching and providing feedback to others, working closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Excellent project management and leadership techniques.
- Experience in overseeing the management of existing tools and leading efforts on proposal writing.
- Availability to work full-time hours, with the ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen.
- Ability to conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment, typically at least 2-3 days per week in the office, with flexibility for remote work.
- Travel requirements of 0-10% of work time.
