Job Description

The Associate Director at E3 will lead client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic guidance, managing workstreams, and contributing to reports and presentations to support clean energy policies and market development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and present project findings to stakeholders
  • Identify approaches and methods for medium-to-large projects
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
  • Oversee the management of existing tools and analytical methods
  • Support proposal writing and contribute to project development
  • Drive strategic project and thought leadership to support business growth
  • Mentor and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in energy consulting, policy, regulation, or related fields, demonstrating the ability to support significant business development upon hiring.
  • Deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy markets, policy, regulation, or environmental factors related to the electricity industry.
  • Proven ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
  • Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying approaches and methods for medium-to-large sized projects.
  • Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Ability to deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and respond to questions effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing the management of existing tools and leading efforts on proposal writing.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including coaching and providing feedback to others.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders while supporting the execution of business and mission objectives.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working from the office at least 2-3 days per week, usually including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Willingness and ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
  • Occasional travel up to 10 times per year to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
