Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will design, develop, and support electrical systems for energy storage products, including battery packs and BESS, ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced clean energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical architectures for battery pack and BESS products, including component specification, selection, and integration.
- Develop and deliver electrical systems that meet safety, performance, certification, manufacturing, and regulatory requirements.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using CAD and ECAD tools.
- Define and execute test plans for performance, safety verification, and compliance of BESS engineering samples.
- Support the design and integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS), control, switching, sensing, and monitoring hardware.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, DFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement.
- Develop electrical test fixtures, jigs, and assembly processes for pack and BESS validation and engineering samples.
- Provide technical support for prototype builds, manufacturing transfer, and vendor qualification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10 years of experience in electrical design and development for battery energy storage or industrial power systems.
- Experience designing power conversion DC-DC systems to regulate and manage battery-connected systems.
- Experience in component selection and integration including sensors, relays, and communication interfaces.
- Strong design, problem-solving, and hands-on skills with experience in engineering, prototyping, and industrial production environments and field troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of applicable standards for battery and electrical system certification, such as UL, IEC, and CE.
