Job Description
The Principal Laser Process Engineer will oversee the deployment, optimization, and development of high-power laser processes for diamond wafer production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve technology and mentor team members in experimental and process development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee deployment and optimization of high-power laser machines across facilities
- Coordinate development of new ablative laser processes with cross-functional engineering teams
- Perform hands-on experiments to develop and refine laser processes
- Mentor team members in designing and conducting rigorous experiments
- Improve and deploy laser technologies company-wide
Requirements
- Oversee the deployment and optimization of high-power laser machines across various facilities.
- Coordinate the development of new ablative processes by working with cross-functional teams of mechanical, electrical, automation, optical, software, and systems engineers to improve and deploy these technologies company-wide.
- Perform hands-on experiments and develop cutting-edge laser processes.
- Mentor team members in performing rigorous, well-designed experiments and making fact-based decisions.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions as part of job duties.
- Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs.
- Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls.
- Lift, carry, and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
