Job Description

The Project Manager of Pre-Construction at Cypress Creek Renewables oversees early-stage project development, including design reviews, scheduling, budgeting, and contractor coordination, to ensure utility-scale solar and storage projects are executed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support construction due diligence through constructability reviews, risk analyses, and project schedule development
  • Review and address upfront construction and execution issues early in the project lifecycle
  • Manage RFI and RFP processes to transition projects from development to execution
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and engineering specifications
  • Lead EPC RFP process, including scoping, evaluation, and selection of contractors
  • Oversee EPC contract execution and early-stage engineering and design
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to support project execution
  • Maintain project budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Host weekly project status meetings and develop project management and construction strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent years of experience in construction, project planning and execution of large utility-scale, power plant projects
  • 3-5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector or industrial construction or capital project management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, and supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining critical path method schedules
  • Extensive experience with EPC and BOP construction contracting including RFP process, bid review, and negotiation of contract terms
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including MS Project
  • Basic knowledge of construction labor relations throughout the US
  • Works well under pressure and on a deadline, enjoys working with a variety of people
