Job Description
The Senior Manager, High Voltage Engineering is responsible for providing technical leadership and overseeing project execution for high-voltage systems in renewable energy projects, including solar, energy storage, and power generation facilities, ensuring reliable and cost-effective electrical design and interconnection solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage high-voltage work scopes and technical contract exhibits for projects.
- Manage engineering consultants and EPC contractors to produce construction drawings and supporting materials.
- Oversee technical project due diligence, design reviews, and support commissioning activities.
- Develop high-voltage strategies and provide conceptual and detailed designs for substations and interconnection facilities.
- Support project development with budget, schedule, technical inputs, and value engineering for HV designs.
- Write and review specifications for high-voltage equipment.
- Contribute to process improvements and stay current on HV technology trends.
- Mentor team members and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HV substation and or transmission line design and or construction.
- Minimum of 10 years of project management, consulting, or project engineering experience.
- Professional Engineering license preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience managing third-party consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Experience with Procore or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work in the Copia Office Salt Lake City, UT, Portland, OR, Washington DC, or Dana Point, CA a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
