Job Description
The Senior Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Construction is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and construction of existing and new facilities to support Commonwealth Fusion Systems' mission to develop fusion energy, managing teams and external partners while engaging with public officials and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of existing facilities and manage construction of new facilities locally and internationally.
- Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for facilities to support company expansion and energy projects.
- Manage teams of facilities maintenance professionals, project managers, space planners, and outside contractors.
- Operate, maintain, and build office and industrial factory spaces.
- Engage with local and state officials, property developers, general contractors, architects, and environmental experts.
Requirements
- Experience in leading operations of existing facilities and managing the construction of new facilities, including local, national, and international expansion.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic planning and tactical operations for facilities supporting a company's growth and ambitious plans.
- Experience managing a collaborative team of facilities maintenance professionals, project managers, space planners, and outside contracting firms to operate, maintain, and build offices and industrial factory space.
- Ability to interact effectively with local and state officials, property developers, general contractors, architects, and civil environmental experts as a key public-facing representative of the company.
- Demonstrated experience in managing facilities operations and construction projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, including the ability to adhere to Export Control Laws.
