Job Description
The General Manager of the SPARC Plant is responsible for overseeing the operation, scientific learning, and team leadership of the facility to ensure its success in demonstrating commercial fusion energy, reporting to the CEO and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the SPARC facility to ensure maximum uptime and scientific productivity
- Build and lead a high-performing, world-class team to operate the facility
- Shape and maintain a culture of excellence and innovation within the facility
Requirements
- Experience in running or managing a facility similar in scope and complexity to a fusion power plant or large scientific/industrial facility, with a focus on maximizing facility uptime and scientific learning.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop a world-class team responsible for operating a complex technical facility.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to shape a culture of excellence and innovation within a technical or scientific environment.
- Experience in overseeing the operational success of a first-of-a-kind or pioneering facility, ensuring its ultimate success.
- Ability to report directly to executive leadership, specifically the CEO, and communicate effectively at senior levels.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, including the ability to adhere to Export Control Laws.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment, as the role is designated LI-Hybrid.
