Job Description
The Settlements Analyst manages revenue billing, accounts receivable, and energy settlement processes for large renewable energy projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting internal teams with financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage revenue billing and accounts receivable processes for large utility-scale solar and wind projects.
- Understand contractual stipulations related to price and quantity to drive settlement activity.
- Manage shadow settlements for ISO independent system operators, including data management and reporting.
- Handle dispute processes with ISOs and qualified scheduling entities (QSE).
- Support accounting functions by recording settlement activity, managing regulatory filings, and performing trend analyses.
- Maintain documentation related to settlement processes for audits and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of SAP, general financial reporting software, and applicable power and utilities platforms used for invoicing and recording.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and, to a limited extent, accounts payable processes.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, such as queries, pivot tables, and formulas, and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products.
- Written and verbal communication skills that enable effective communication with various groups within the company, particularly the Accounting and Asset Management teams.
- Responsible for managing the revenue billing and cash applications for all large utility-scale solar and wind projects.
- Responsible for managing the dispute process with the ISO and qualified scheduling entities (QSE).
- Responsible for the management of all assigned ISO processes, including data management, reporting, and timely analysis.
- Responsible for maintaining all documentation related to settlement processes in support of internal and external audits and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
