Job Description
The Lead Analyst supports tax accounting activities, including financial reporting, tax provision calculations, and compliance, within a dynamic energy company environment. The role involves managing tax systems, leading state apportionment, and collaborating on tax-related projects to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the calculation of income tax provision, footnotes, and disclosures using ASC 740
- Manage the One Source Tax Provision system for year-end close processes
- Prepare tax basis balance sheet studies and return-to-provision analyses
- Coordinate with Internal Audit to provide documentation for internal control testing
- Lead state apportionment calculations to determine the organization's effective tax rate
- Gather and organize tax accounting information to support third-party tax return preparation
Requirements
- Six years of federal, state, and local tax provision compliance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related major.
- Fluency in One Source Tax Provision software, including setup and administration.
- Knowledge and application of FAS 109 ASC 740 Tax Accounting.
- Tax compliance review experience of federal, state, and other jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of tax preparation software.
- Experience with tax analytic tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, and AI-related applications.
