The internship involves supporting the Portfolio Finance team in financial modeling, transaction coordination, and project funding processes for renewable energy projects, providing hands-on experience in energy project finance and deal execution.
Key Responsibilities
Refine and optimize Microsoft Excel-based project finance tracking models, including scenario analysis and cash flow valuation.
Support live funding transactions by preparing documentation checklists and updating financial models.
Coordinate with internal teams to advance deliverables required for project funding.
Assist in preparing presentations and reports on transaction status, risks, and benefits for leadership.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Math, Economics, Tax, Accounting or a related field, and being a current junior.
Ability to refine Microsoft Excel-based project finance tracking models, including updating actuals, valuing life-to-date and future cash flows, and implementing scenario analysis tools.
Experience or ability to modify cash distribution waterfall files to project distributions through the capital stack.
Ability to create and oversee transaction checklists of documentation deliverables required for funding, including bringdown financial model updates checklist and other processes to prepare for funding.
Ability to coordinate with internal teams such as Construction, Development, Accounting, and Legal to advance deliverables required for funding.
Support in preparing presentations and reports on transaction status, risks, and benefits to the Leadership Team.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Understanding of key financial concepts such as discounted cash flow analysis, time value of money, internal rate of return, and net present value.
Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide and deal-specific objectives.
Strong interpersonal skills, including asking questions, listening to colleagues, and contributing ideas.
Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable, demonstrating the ability to show up, be present, and eager to dive into the workday.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
