Job Description
The Vice President of Asset Management at Avantus is responsible for leading the strategy, performance, and lifecycle optimization of the company's renewable energy assets, including solar and storage projects, to maximize reliability, profitability, and long-term value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term asset management strategies for PV and BESS portfolios
- Oversee strategic capital planning, investment prioritization, and portfolio optimization
- Manage asset performance, including availability, efficiency, and lifecycle costs
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of energy assets
- Manage financial performance, including revenue optimization, budgeting, and forecasting
- Support commercial activities such as PPA negotiations, hedging, and asset transactions
- Ensure regulatory compliance and lead regulatory filings and stakeholder engagement
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and environmental risks
- Build and lead multidisciplinary teams focused on asset operations, contracts, and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- 12 to 20 years of progressive leadership experience in renewable energy, utilities, or asset intensive industries.
- Proven track record managing complex energy asset portfolios or large scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in financial modeling, asset optimization, regulatory environments, and operational performance.
- Deep knowledge of energy markets, technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Executive level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-changing environments.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $236,955 - $259,000 USD plus bonus
